This kit will form the basis for conceptual lessons on forces and motion, which are the keystone of the mechanics block of instruction for conceptual physics. The kit will be the first lab materials this school has ever had for physics. It will be used for AP physics as well, which we are establishing this year. Science is best learned by hands-on activities. This kit will be used for the first hands-on activities physics students have enjoyed here. Hands-on acitivities reinforce lecture concepts and expand the methods of learning. Experiential learning is an adjunct to lecture, and is better retained.
