These building materials will make a difference in how my students learn in ALL subject areas. While students are collaborating, socializing, and planning they will be creating life-long thinking skills. As a veteran teacher my few building blocks and hands-on building materials are out of date and misplaced. I want to add new building block materials that will spark excitement and creativity in my students. I want them to have more than pencils and paper. Due to the majority of my students coming from Spanish speaking families, I want to provide many opportunities in my classroom for them to improve English social skills. My students are typically hard-working but greatly lack thinking skills. I want to immerse them in opportunities that promote creative thinking. The building blocks, legos, magnetic blocks, and etc. all provide opportunities for thinking, creating, planning, socializing, and collaborating all while having fun and creating a love of learning.
