Getting my writers excited about writing would include online access to dictionaries, thesaurus' and online writing resources. With resources from Britannica and Teachers Pay Teachers, students can find themselves embracing the "how" of writing and the resources to help guide them. STEAM is the way! I would love for my students to have access to activities that allow them to embrace their learning through STEAM projects to help them understand the format of a great writer. When students have engaging activities to help guide them through the Learning Objectives, they will be able to understand the Success Criteria set forth.
