Book selection is key to keeping struggling scholars reading. Learning basic English at a young age is a foundational skill that is needed for a successful life in America. Reading is a skill that fosters independence and confidence in English learners that will carry them through their school years and enable them to succeed in life. The book packs I have chosen to ask for have books for all reading levels from prek-5th grade. They range from easy picture books for English learners in any grade level classroom to grade level short novels for more proficient readers.
