My students are incredibly intelligent, resilient, resourceful, and creative in their own ways. As an English language Arts teacher, I get to cultivate the genius that already exists within them. I am a Harlem-born, Bronx-based educator that is committed to highlighting and celebrating students voices, especially those of students that are Black and Brown! I am about to enter my third year of teaching, and have developed a solid understanding of my role as a facilitator of critical thinking and learning, and how literacy and literature ties into the quest for enlightenment and liberation.
