I am hoping to diversify the collection of books available to them that will allow students to see themselves and understand others. The students in our community come from diverse ethnic and linguistic backgrounds. It's crucial for students to see themselves as leaders, heroes, capable, smart. Books can boost self-esteem and compassion. My dream is to create a library that is inviting, well-organized, and reflects the students in our classroom. We also need materials for organizing our collection as well as making it a warm and inviting place where students want to curl up and dive into a good book. Please help me create a space for students to experience a good book and learn to love reading.
