Students will be empowered to keep their classroom organized with color-coded bins and folder files. The folder files will be used by students to organize their work instead of cubbies. We have tables instead of desks and do not have built in cubbies. These file folders will be stored in accessible bookcases. The bigger bins will be used to organize our classroom library by subject. Students will be able to find books about dinosaurs in red bins, princesses in blue, etc. This will help them select books quickly for in class reading. A bright carpet with assigned spots for each student will help facilitate quick transitions from tables to floor and back. This will also help with classroom management because students who struggle when seated next to each other can have strategically assigned positions.
