With the uncertainties this world is currently facing, many students have decided to remain at home for their health and safety and do school remotely. I have the honor to still teach them, just from afar. Teachers and parents realized last spring that this remote learning comes with a challenge. One of those challenges is not being able to demonstrate and model learning well to students, as everything is done by computer. Teaching this way made it difficult to show problems for math, reading, and writing. I hope to get the document camera and the whiteboard in order to better my students' learning while teaching them live. The document camera will allow me to show my students more clearly what I am doing when writing, doing a math problem, or reading so they can follow along more easily. This was something I wish I was able to do last spring, but am hopeful for the opportunity to do it this fall! I feel that the students will feel more successful when they are able to see more clearly what I am doing, as it will give them more confidence and assurance in their work.
