The most challenging part of being a teacher is the constant changes that happen in education, with our students, and with learning environments. Nevertheless, to me, one of the best parts about being a teacher is the fact that every day is different from the last. I love being part of a classroom and providing students with different ways to relate to math, create activities and games that can make the content relevant and fun to make sure that students are engaged and enthusiastic about mathematics. The donations to this project will assist me in making the changes needed to support incoming 6th graders, by providing me with the tools required to reshape my curriculum. It will also further my development as a new teacher by allowing me to continue to educate myself in adapting to the different academic needs of my students. I want to expand my learning so I can continue my contributions of educating the youth of the amazing community of Washington Heights in my 6th-grade math classroom.
