I believe that having a subscription to Scholastic News Weekly Reader will help broaden my class's knowledge about what is happening in our world. It is an awesome tool for current events. Reading the Scholastic News also leads to excellent class discussions. It contains many diverse topics which is extremely important in our society! Scholastic News offers access to online activities including videos which would be advantageous if we still had to do do Distant Learning! It has resources to reach all types of learners. It has text to speech audio and offers English Language Learners support. Usually about 1/3 of our class is ELL. It covers close reading and many other additional resources. It would be an excellent supplement during the COVID-19 pandemic. The students would have access to both the booklet and the online version. It's a win win for everyone!!
