The materials and supplies that I am requesting will be used on a daily basis to create a therapeutic and safe space for students to come and talk about their feelings and build their social and emotional learning ability. The comfortable seating options will be for students to take a break from classroom chairs and sit comfortably to talk about big feelings. The light covers will be used to provide a more sensory friendly room so that it is calm and peaceful. I will be working with students with different mental health diagnosis and helping them cope and manage with their behaviors and feelings. The books will be read to students to provide a child-friendly way of helping them navigate those feelings. The activities requested will help students learn ways to manage their moods, hyperactivity tendencies, and impulse control.
