In this ever changing world, technology has become vital in many classrooms. It has become a teaching tool that allows students to reach beyond the classroom and out into the world for additional answers. Technology has the greatest impact when it is used in addition to teaching instructions. Having additional technology, like this Chromebook, would enable less fortunate students more opportunities to be engaged in class work without having to share with a peer. Students often use their personal phones to access things like Google Classroom, take notes, lab research, do projects, and play review games. They would be able to think more independently and be more creative without having to share a device with a peer. Using technology allows students the opportunity to participate, give instant feedback, and makes learning fun and more effective. My long term goal would be to bridge the technological disparity among students in our rural district with those of neighboring urban communities. Technology is here to stay and I want all my students to be vested in their future with tools that will help them succeed.
