The objective of this project is to educate student on how to decode and analyze nonfiction and fiction text. Sample activities that students will participate in to enhance their analytical nonfiction/fiction reading skills will include guided reading instruction. I will facilitate student learning as they read through coaching and guided discussions before, during and after reading. Students will work in groups of 4 to 6 with the teacher, use texts at or above their own instructional level, and focus on the reading strategies they need at that point in their development.
