Using a sound proof sensory divider will help support a sensory friendly classroom environment. When student's experience sensory overload, it affects their ability to learn and participate. It can also contribute to behavioral challenges. After learning that there anywhere from 11-24 sensory systems that our bodies use on a daily basis, I have researched ways to set up my classroom to meet my student's sensory needs. This sensory divider will help my students function, attend, organize, and learn all that they need to become successful adults. I will use this divider while teaching stations and it will help prevent auditory and visual distractions.
