While my students and I were able to make do during the abrupt coronavirus shutdown, I know that a higher quality of teaching can happen with an iPad and Apple Pencil. There are a variety of ways these tools can improve my instruction. There are applications that allow me to use the iPad like a document camera and provide real-time math examples on online curriculum. This device can also act as a recording device to help me send high quality lessons straight to my students and their families. In the classroom, we can use the iPad to collaborate on math examples when connected to our Apple TV and as a teaching tool in our small group language arts instruction. These tools will make a big impact on my students both in the classroom and at a distance.
