Flexible seating provides the students with a choice over how they are best able to learn. Research shows that providing students with the ability to move around the classroom and to choose non traditional seating helps them to learn better. The students will be much more engaged when they are able to make a choice of where they want to be seated because being comfortable is important in the students being successful. With this flexible seating, I will be able to provide my students with a comfortable environment that will promote learning. The products I have chosen for my students will provide them with comfortable seating if they choose to sit somewhere other than their desks. The beanbag chair, large comfy pillows, and comfy floor seats will give students a comfortable seating choice that allows them to move around the classroom. I specifically want to use these products to make a comforting reading area in my classroom to promote reading for pleasure among my students. I want this area to get my students excited and to foster a love of reading within them all.
