Wonder, by R.J. Palacio, is a book that has an inspirational message that we enjoy reading to our students at the beginning of the school year. We also use the book to introduce 6th grade English Language Arts skills to our students. Due to the nature of the unknown this coming fall, it will be extremely beneficial that each student have their own copy of Wonder to use, especially if we are completing some of our learning from home. Since we will be using this book to complete assignments in Language Arts, it is important that each student have their own copy to be able to use textual evidence in their assignments. This book also helps students understand the importance of treating everyone equally. We are excited to use this book this fall to not only teach content but to also teach students about kindness.
