During the current distance learning situation, I still utilize books on a daily basis with my students. I record daily read alouds that I film and post to YouTube. I also create lessons that teach different comprehension skills as my first graders are beginning to become independent readers. These diversity focused books can be integrated in a lot of different subjects and they would help to expand my students' current knowledge about the world around them. My hope is that they will cause my students to be less judgmental, and more accepting, kind, and loving individuals.
