It is important for students to see themselves or people like them in the books they read. Libraries should be a place where students know they are not alone. Libraries should also be a door to new worlds and new experiences. Books with characters and experiences that mirror the classroom around them, will open doors and windows to the world for my students. Your donations will help them see that, first, they are not alone, and, second, there are different ways to view the world. Over the years, I have collected many books, but few of them speak to the experiences of all of my students. Your contributions will help me do just that.
