My students are first graders. We are in a Title 1 school, so many students receive free or reduced lunch. We gather at the carpet every morning for our morning meeting to start the day off. We also gather at the carpet for read aloud stories and whole group activities. Students also love work at the carpet in small groups on literacy stations or math games. Students also enjoy reading independently on the carpet. The carpet is the main spot in the room that we gather together as a class. Our current carpet is old and stained. We would love a new and clean carpet to work on.
