They are able to learn more about important people and events in a way that highlights the great and interesting topics in the world around them. These magazines provide students with strong motivation and entice their curiosity to strengthen their beginning reading skills while simultaneously learning about Science and Social Studies. We use these magazines to guide collaborative discussions and to launch independent research. They are a powerful tool for beginning and emerging readers and offer the chance to read and learn more about informational writing.
