My scholars have chosen to attend our school based on the Classical Education that we provide. We believe that the arts are an integral part of education. We focus on history, composers, classical artists, and memorization through reciting monthly recitations. To provide a classical music program we learn all aspects of music, from singing to playing instruments, to dancing. In our music classroom we learn solfege, music history, composer studies, music theory, and playing various instruments. I would love to teach our fourth - sixth grade classes how to play chords on the ukulele. This skill will be helpful in transferring what they learn on the ukulele to other instruments they may want to learn in the future. I also know that playing and instrument while singing engages both sides of the brain at the same time. This is helpful in all aspects of the scholar's education.
