These desk will allow the extremely diverse student population of my classroom to be comfortable in the classroom. When students are comfortable and have flexible seating students are never worried about where they will sit because all body types can find a place to sit. The style of desk I am requesting also help for students who need to stand from time to time. These desk are able to be moved to allow for group collaboration and independent study. In a 21st century classroom group collaboration is a necessity. Traditional desk do not allow for this to happen easily. In my school we also have a strong technology presence. These desk allow for a multitude of arrangements to help with charging, design, and most important flexibility. With the addition of these student desk my students regardless of physical ability or inability will be able to be find comfort in the learning environment. By using this style of desk students are capable of finding a comfortable place to learn. Many students in my school come from broken home situations and difficult life situations. I also teach a content which forces a study of racism, hatred, and inequality. Finding comfort in my room will allow for a simpler life for the 50 minutes I have them where equality is given to all students not just in content but in seating. Please consider donating to my class these desk will impact hundreds of students over the years.
