For a number of years our school's courtyard has suffered from neglect and overgrowth. Recently, staff members working together, cut the grass, trimmed the bushes and cleaned off paths restoring it to its original charm. We would like our students and staff to have use of this garden area as a place for restorative practices, community building, science lessons and a quiet place to read and study. Placing two picnic tables in the courtyard will allow greater comfort for the students to relax and chat with classmates and teachers. Many of our students do not have a place to go to outside of school that is restful and calm. Responsibility will be instilled in the students as caretakers of the garden.
