I work with both middle and high school art teachers that my school feeds into. Both levels have requested I work more with my students in the area of values. In 4th grade, the students work through a variety of projects geared toward value, texture and landscapes. The 5th grade continue to sharpen these skills through their projects (grid self portrait, mixed up Yoda grid) and daily sketches. It is my desire for my students to be fully prepared for middle and high school. The pencils, erasers and sharpener will continue to fuel this desire I have for my students. The ability to use the supplies will give them an understanding of artist tools beyond a yellow number 2 pencil.
