In my music classroom, students will learn about the different genres of music, the instrument families, and general music. Our school will have a vocal choir and a handbell choir. We will learn about a new instrument each week. Students will learn how to read and play simple compositions. They will perform for the community and their families. Louisiana culture and history will be integrated into the lessons. Students will leave the school year with an appreciation and knowledge about music. My goal is to teach music appreciation and inspire students to pursue music in their future.
