Summer is fast approaching and our students have now spent nearly three months engaged in distance learning through online platforms. Our staff are skilled at providing meaningful learning and social connection through Zoom meetings, phone calls and emails. But as our students move into the summer months we would like to provide them with something they are dearly missing: a new book to hold and read. Our students are hungry for new reading material. Not an e-book, but a real paper, page-turner! A new book to take home for the summer not only provides important encouragement to keep reading and growing, but also provides a resource most families cannot provide right now at a time that our school and public libraries are closed. The selected books will be carefully curated, selecting characters and authors that reflect and celebrate the diversity of our students.
