AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) has been such a powerful program at our high school. Many students have been able to be successful in taking honors courses, working on organizational techniques, and even touring colleges around the state of South Carolina to broaden their horizons. One area that we desperately need improvement on is standardized testing. It is no secret that colleges weigh admissions heavily on test scores, and many of our students simply do not have the means to purchase these test preparation books for themselves, as many come from low-income households. How awesome would it be for every student to have a personalized test prep book to further their knowledge and chances of getting into the college they have always dreamed of? Please help make this happen for our students, as they truly deserve the very best!
