The recent pandemic has really thrown us for a loop. Of course, no one could know that we wouldn’t be returning to school after spring break and many of our library books were never returned. A number of our families couldn’t continue to pay rent and families moved out of the area. Unfortunately, our books went with them and now we are in need of additional inventory for our readers when they return to campus. For students to become better readers, they need to have engaging, interesting and appropriate books to read. I will use this funding to replace and revitalize our reading collection for my voracious readers. These books will allow my students more opportunities to read at their ability level in an area of interest to them. These additions will be read by many students for years to come, and benefit not only the reader, but their families and our community as well.
