I would love to have this equipment to support my students in their pursuit of learning. My students would use the equipment with their peer group to carry out their experiments, collect data, and analyze lab results. This will be incorporated into their projects and science learning to understand the real world around them. My students finished last year with remote learning and my focus this year will be to provide as many hands-on and minds-on activity as possible. My learners have been in remote learning since March and hands-on and minds-on activities are what they have been yearning to do when they get back to school. We are opening a brand new building after Labor Day and having labs will not only provide opportunities to learn science but will also promote group work. Group work is known for increased learning and the betterment of classroom culture to work with students of diverse cultures. The cart will help with transitions between activities and classes so students can stay safe when they are not using the lab equipments and chemicals. Also, the scales and graduated cylinders will allow students to practice scientific precision as they measure any substances, such as solids and liquids. Meaningful group work is a gateway to promote inclusiveness and learning. Our diverse students will not only get to experience the fun part of science but also learn to accept and negotiate the differences between cultures, individuals and learning styles.
