Some students are wired differently, and that is OK! Low lighting, comfortable seating, and supplies to fidget with help their brains focus. Having a calm space they can retreat to is a key component in the education of these students. Their general education classrooms can get overwhelming at times. This is my first year teaching special education, these items will help me set my students up for success. My goal for next year is to create a calm classroom. The supplies I have picked out will help my students learn and acknowledge when they are getting anxious or overwhelmed, so they can use those tools in the rest of their educational journey!

About my class
