I plan to use this resource for depth and complexity lesson to my students. We will analyze characters and their actions. Students will use the book to compare and contrast their own experiences to that of the main characters. Students will infer deeper meanings and themes of the book. Students will then pick topics of discrimination and complete research projects on that topic and create plans of action of how to make a difference in the community. My students will become active leaders in their plans and come up with creative meaningful solutions with the guidance of myself, the campus counselor and campus social worker.
