I have always believed in a whole-class teaching approach. The discussions that are had, amaze me even with the youngest students. I chose my read aloud books carefully after experimenting with several over the years. These books allow students to use their imagination when reading along but also, provide enough content and hidden lessons for them to truly learn life lessons from. The books allow students to join me when reading and refer back to when completing activities and projects. It opens a whole new world of learning when they actually have a copy in their hands and are able to enjoy not only the story, but the words!
