The goal of my project is to provide my students with a flexible seating environment that is geared towards increasing student engagement and academic performance. I have learned that students appreciate a classroom environment that is not only inviting but also comfortable. When students are not comfortable within their learning environment, they are distracted and they lose focus. However, when students are comfortable, they seem to be more alert and on task which allows them to be more productive. In addition to that, when students have a choice in seating, it allows them to feel empowered which enables them to have control over their environment. I want my students to be comfortable, engaged, and productive. Flexible seating will allow my students to be more successful within our classroom.
