I am a first year teacher at a title one school and want to provide my students with as many different opportunities to learn as possible. The materials on my list were picked with my students in mind and what would benefit them most. On my list you will find a variety of math manipulative's to aid students in understanding new concepts such as addition and subtraction. You will also find books at varying levels to ensure that students are met where they are before being challenged with harder reading material! There are also additional items that will ensure that students will learn in an environment that is adaptive. There are also flexible seating options listed that allow students to move around the room and work in smaller groups, building communication skills as well as academic knowledge! I have placed a carpet on my list so that students have a place to gather while reading as well as a place for our morning meetings to discuss different topics! I have also chosen the theme of "Woodland friends" as I want to create an environment of family in my room! This theme promotes working together and being a team player! These items will help me build my first classroom and ensure that these precious students are able to learn in a variety of ways!
