Flexible seating is becoming more and more popular throughout classrooms. Studies are showing that by giving our students choices and control over their learning environment that they are actually becoming more engaged and motivated to learn. By including flexible seating into the classroom we can provide students with learning environments that influence creativity, uniqueness, and safety. In my classroom, students will be expected to move around the classroom and try different seating options to see which seat works the best for them. Flexible seating has a wide range of benefits. The wobble cushions will stimulate the student's sense of touch. This can help them stay focused and process information. They can easily be moved around the classroom and used on a chair or on the floor. The wobble stools will help students stay active during instruction. Staying active will increase blood flow and that helps students stay alert and focused, which leads to higher academic performance and improved behavior. The colorful stools will provide students with a unique seating option during teacher led small group. Collaboration and communication skills will be practiced between peers during this time. The balance ball stools will help those students who need to get some wiggles out. They will reduce restlessness and help those active minds stay focused. Last but not least, they are fun and provide a creative learning environment! This is my first year teaching kindergarten! I would love to have a fun, safe, and student-centered environment for this coming year!! Thank you for your support!!
