Currently the bookshelves in my classroom are old, dingy & industrial looking. I believe a classroom is a home for 10 months a year, 6 hours a day, to my students. My current bookshelves would not be in my home. Yet, I have created a reading nook where I want to teach the love of reading and includes a shag rug, comfy pillows, and a rocking chair. I want to make it as “homey” as possible. These new white cubed shelves will create a space where kids want to spend independent time reading.
