Student choice and student voice are at the forefront of my classroom. Flexible seating and student accessible storage allows students to take ownership of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. It also allows students to feel safe and comfortable in their classroom environment, which then fosters courage to try new things, be creative, and take bold academic chances. My students are more engaged, creative, and curious when given the choice of where to work. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options, as well as student accessible storage for their materials. The stools will be stationed at higher tables where students can channel some of their extra energy through the option of standing or sitting. The comfy fruit pillows and fuzzy rug will allow for additional comfortable floor seating options. The wooden benches double as seating and storage, where students can relax and do their work or dive into a good book. The cube organizers will be stationed at each student table and will be a home for all student materials (ex. pencils, glue, crayons, journals, etc.). These organizers will be completely student accessible in order to facilitate a student-run classroom. Lastly, the microphone is a way to literally amplify student voice in my classroom. It will be utilized during student share outs, karaoke celebrations, and just for fun! Thank you in advance for your generosity. Because of you, my students will be provided with academic choice, as well as having their voice heard!
