My students have many needs including sensory input needs that hinder them from being able to access the curriculum. They need frequent breaks, fidget toys, and flexible seating in order to help them stay still and focused. Without meeting those needs, it is very challenging as a teacher to get students to attend to the instruction being given. Allowing them access to the sensory equipment and materials will make all the difference in their everyday learning. Their minds will be occupied with one less thing to worry about and give them the opportunity to learn like the rest of their peers.
