My art classroom currently does not have textbooks (which I’m fine with) but we also do not have chrome books or other technology to use for research. Because of this I have to find and run off copies of anything I want everyone to be able to use. I like to tie each project to an artist that created in that style or time period and add in art history. It would be amazing to be able to have a class set of Art magazines or books so that every student could have a nice color copy in front of them. I find that they engage better when they have something to hold and keep their attention. Also one of our district goals is to improve literacy. This doesn’t have to be confined just to ELA classes. I would love to be able to tie that into my classes more. I have received a couple of sample copies of the Scholastic Art Magazine and they are amazing. I could see them being used almost daily in my classroom for many different purposes. Also I would keep them to use again in the future.
