Research shows that students who are not on grade level with reading and math by the time they finish 3rd grade are less likely to catch up to their grade-level peers. I am trying to create an engaging, fun technology center to help with literacy and mathematical growth. I plan to utilize these tablets with leveled small groups to help with intervention and enrichment so that each of my students is able to benefit from the applications available to help boost their literacy and math skills. I want to ensure that every student who walks through my classroom has access to technology. In our society today, technology is at a height it has never been before, and it continues to rise at an amazing rate. Providing low-income students with exposure to technology that they may not have at home helps them to not only advance in my designated subject areas but also technologically.
