Flexible seating will allow my students to make choices about where they work in the classroom, as well as what they sit on in the classroom. My students thrive when they feel they are in control of their learning experiences. Choosing a seat may seem small but to my students it's huge. Having a choice helps them develop independence and positive choice-making skills. My students are more engaged when they can take an active role in their learning. The addition of the stools, wobble stools, and balance balls to our classroom will allow my students to wiggle while not impeding their education. Our classroom is medium-size and does not leave much room for my students to choose work areas. The compact size of the flexible seating will allow the students to move around the classroom.
