Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and choose their learning spot. In our classroom, students will have a variety of flexible seating options for their learning spot such as wobble stools, exercise balls, comfy floor seats, trampoline seats, and bean bag chairs. A comfortable learning spot is an essential component in student motivation and student success. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They do their best to make smart choices, are engaged in their learning, and complete more work than when they are sitting at a normal desk and chair. Additionally, these factors also help students to be less disruptive to their peers. The flexible seating products that I have selected will help my students by giving them the power to make responsible, effective learning choices. The wobble stools and exercise balls will allow students to move in their learning spots. This is extremely beneficial to students that just need to get the wiggles out! The cushion floor seats and bean bag chairs will allow for comfortable floor seating options. The variety of flexible seating options will ensure each student can pick their most effective learning spot. I have seen how giving students a choice in their learning environment can positively affect their work and increase their motivation in our classroom. I know that these flexible seating options will help them become active, engaged, lifelong learners, and be even more successful in our classroom!
