A tablet is not just a tablet to my Kindergarteners. It is a prized possession, a portal to another world, and a whole lot of fun. Not only do my students have limited access to tablets, the teachers at my school do as well. As a Title I school there isn't enough technology to go around. With the possibility of digital learning in the future, we all desperately NEED more technology. I ask for this set of tablets to support me as a teacher, but I beg for my students. Not only for the access and exposure to more technology, but the learning that can happen with great resources, fills me with hope. More than 50% of my students are ESL learners, with these tablets, I could give them regular access to education programs. These programs can support them in their native language. I cannot speak every language and this resource will support their learning in ways I never could. Daily and consistent exposure to technology and great resources for every student is my goal. Consistency is key. With easy access to these tablets in my classroom, the learning can flow seamlessly. I asked for heavy duty kid proof cases because not only are we learning to read in Kindergarten but we are learning how to care for our prized possessions. A fall or two is bound to happen. It is always better to be prepared and protected. I cannot thank you enough for considering donating to this project. I am forever grateful.
