STEM learning is a unique place where students can work together as a team to make, create, invent, and learn. My goal is to turn my classroom into a place where critical thinking and problem-solving are valued and fostered. By creating a STEM learning space within my classroom, I hope to achieve that goal. Within this STEM area, the students can come together to solve problems, share ideas, and investigate areas of science, technology, engineering, and math that normally wouldn’t be involved in the curriculum. Students will be able to use the tools requested such as Building Sticks, Straw Construction, Brain Flakes, and Wooden Planks to explore their surroundings and draw conclusions with STEM activities. First grade standards would be met with these activities as well.
