Many of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes and cannot afford to buy all the materials they would normally have access to in the classroom such as pencils, paper, project supplies (colored pencils and glue sticks), and tools to keep them protected and healthy (masks and hand sanitizer). This project will support THREE GRADES of students to help keep them safe and provide them with resources they need to be successful while they learn from home and when we return to the classroom. Most of my students do not have a quiet environment where they can focus. They are in shared spaces with siblings, and several of my students have even attended class with infant-aged siblings in their lap. They often have to have TVs on to occupy their younger siblings while they attend class, which can be distracting. Providing students with earbud headphones will allow them to better focus on their class meeting while keeping the little ones occupied.
