Five and six year olds do not want to sit all day and complete worksheets. These ELAR hands-on activities and books will provide different and exciting ways for my kindergarteners to learn how to read. They will learn with these engaging activities during our guided reading centers and intervention time. It will allow my students to build their reading knowledge through peer interaction and learn to cooperate with others. We will use these activities and books throughout the school year. My students will read nonfiction books based on their interests and reading levels. We will begin using the letter knowledge activities and then gradually incorporate additional activities as they continue on their reading journey. These materials provide differentiated activities to engage all levels of learners.
