In the current situation we are all facing, families are unsure how to help their child achieve at home like they were at school. This project is going to help my students achieve and get back to progressing to meet their goal when school can resume in person.
Each of my students learn best by visuals and the use of manipulatives in their day to day instruction. Teaching in special education, each child has their own unique way of how they learn. Even though each student is on a different level of learning from the next, they enjoy and benefit from the use of those visual items.
OSMO provides visual and hands-on learning to meet each child's needs and ability. I have one kit in my classroom already, and trying to have 21 students use that each in a day is a struggle. My classroom currently contains 5 iPads and I know if I could have an OSMO kit/base for each of the iPads, I will be able to rotate and have each student benefit each and every day. Each item is wiped down after each use for the safety of the teachers and students alike.
With the kit I already have, I have noticed a HUGE improvement not only on instructional tests, but their progress monitoring goals as well, with nearly half of them reaching their goals by January! This is a huge success in Special Education.
