Due to remote learning during the pandemic, some rising first-grade students have never attended in-person learning at our school. Students will need to build skills related to social-emotional learning to help navigate this transition. As we continue to think critically about our curriculum and resources, texts focused on anti-racism will help foster necessary conversations in our classroom. An expansive read-aloud library will help foster conversations to empower learners to know themselves, find & exercise their voice, seek to understand multiple perspectives, and take meaningful action. These read-aloud books will help build meaningful connections in our loving learning community.
