Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Many children don't enjoy sitting still in those traditional hard chairs in the classroom. Their little minds learn best if they can wiggle while they work in non-traditional seating like wobble chairs and floor seats. There are many children in the classroom who will have special needs and need to use the sensory features of these non-traditional chairs to feel calm and secure. I want to make sure that my classroom, including the seating, is inclusive of all types of diverse learners. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. When students are comfortable and cozy, their brains are engaged and working at a high level. In addition, having these fun seating options will allow me to give a positive reward option for students! The bright comfortable seats, pillows, and bean bags will be used in our class library. I can't wait to see my little students sitting comfortably with their noses buried in their favorite books. Thank you for taking the time to read my requests and my material list.
